Nominated: Gerald R Ford of Michigan for President
Nominated: Bob Dole of Kansas for Vice President
President Ford withstood a challenge from Governor Reagan. On the first ballot Ford won wth 1,187 of the votes to 1,070 to Reagan. Ford agreed to adopt many of the platform positions of Reagan.
